French Journal Day 168 (Travel Diary Day 248)

In what seems like a blink of an eye, our 5 weeks in the French capital is coming to an end. It has been, without doubt, one of the best months we’ve had since we first started travelling more than 3 years ago.

Paris is more than a vibrant city, it’s a source of artistic inspiration. Everywhere we go I’m compelled to have my camera at the ready – there’s something unique around so many corners.

In the short time we’ve been here we’ve made friends with some great people, a few of whom we’ll be having farewell drinks with tonight.

We’ve established a lovely routine of walking the dog in the lovely park (today’s photo is of that park) each morning and chatting with the other dog owners in the unofficially designated Dogs Corner. And, we’ve both been intensely productive.

Tomorrow, however, we’ll be reunited with Betsy and the day after that we’ll return to a life of uncertainty as we hit the road north towards Normandy and begin our two month drive around Europe.

I’m looking forward to making this blog into what it was originally meant to be – a documentation of our travels and a place to show my images. This past month, although amazing, hasn’t been filled with too many strange or noteworthy adventures. Hopefully that will change as we begin journeying up and down the French motorways again.

I hope that you stick with our adventure as we go. And, should we be passing by a place near you, drop me an email. It would be great to meet a local who can give us advice on where to shoot.

Today’s Photo – the park

Despite taking this at night, in a fairly dark park, we never felt vulnerable. There are joggers in there from morning until night. Strolling through here was a genuinely pleasant start to the day…except when it rained.

My workflow for this image can be found here – HDR Photomatix Tutorial
