Pont Alexandre iii
French Journal Day 140 (Travel Diary Day 220)
The biting cold that gnawed at my un-gloved fingers was enough for me to call an early end to my night-shoot with a few locals yesterday. I’d been shown some great spots by Robbie, a French photographer who isnot from Paris originally.
We spent most of our time shooting around Pont Alexandre iii.
Before we met, I passed some time strolling the busy streets of Paris along the Seine. I took mental note after mental note of all the places I needed to visit before sunrise. I expect the streets to be a lot quieter at 6:00am. The problem is, it would be better if I had a shooting partner, just in case I run into a touch of trouble with my expensive camera gear – a common occurrence according to everyone I’ve spoken to.
Finding someone to shoot with isn’t a problem. Finding someone to do it at 6:00am is more of a challenge.
Today we were in super-tourist mode and managed to see the Eiffel Tower. The challenge with the Eiffel Tower is finding a composition no one else has used.
Today’s Photo – Pont Alexandre iii
The bridge is a joy to shoot at night. Its charming lamps and decorations make for an interesting HDR subject.
I used the same workflow on this image as I teach in my HDR Tutorial.
